Welcome to The Tucson Small Business Networking Group

This group, The Tucson Small Business Networking Group is an effort by Tucson SEO Solutions to provide you and easy to use online networking site that focuses exclusively on local businesses in Tucson. The site is a wonderful marketing tools if you know how to use it to your best advantage. Since we are Internet Marketers based in Tucson we thought that we would share our networking knowledge and resources with you.

We recognize that in these tough economic times we all need to work together to survive and prosper. TSBNG offers you the opportunity to connect with other area for profit and non profit businesses.

The sites requires active participation to work at its best. You must be active if this site is going to assist you in growing your business. Most of the site is open to the public so not only can you reach members you may also reach non members as well.

This is very important to you as a member. During the first month of operation the site had around 550 visitors. About 70% of those visitors visited another page on the site. These number will likely only increase as the site currently ranks extremely well in the Search Engine Results Pages. We also market the site on a half dozen or so sites that send traffic to the sites. We had 45 visitors from Craigslist in the first month and several of those became members.

Another benefit is that all links no the site are Do Follow. That means that a link on this site to your website may assist you in achieving higher search engine rankings. As for as I can tell we are the only business networking site in Tucson that offers this incentive.

Most social media sites assume that you already know how to use their sites and offer very little in the way of assistance. However, most small business owners have been too busy running their businesses to learn the nuances of social media. So we have outlined some basic instructions on how to use this site you can find them listed below under forums and on video.

I want to personally invite you to join now.

Thanks,
Urban

Exploiting the Process Constraint

Once you have identified your constraints, the next step in constraint management is to exploit them. This mean to utilize them to their

maximum extent. To exploit the constraint we have to take a look at a

few things first.

  1. We need to look at the existing work in process (WIP) and throughput levels and compare them to the goals or proposed levels…

Indentifying your Process Constraints

Some times the hardiest thing is to find your process constraint. Remember, a constraint is any resource with less throughput than the demand placed on it. They regulate the output of your whole process.

First, you need to understand “demand”. Demand is not what the

supervisor wants, although many times it feels like it if the supervisor

does not understand…

Where Oh Where have my Profits Gone? A Discussion on Constraint Management

In today’s world we are always looking for ways to improve what we do. But many time we have improved a step of one of our business processes to find no real gains. Yes that step is more efficient but

over all we did not improve the bottom line. Why does this happen?

Because we have been improving areas that are not the over all

bottlenecks of your company. The bottleneck or constraint paces the

whole process and if you are improving any other step but the…

Is DMAIC needed in Lean Six Sigma

In an earlier article I wrote about DMAIC as the roadmap to a successful Six Sigma projects[i]. I implied that DMAIC was “the” method for Six Sigma, but it is not and

Importance of Setting Goals...

One of the most important things for any small-mid sized business to be successful is to ensure that the entire organization is on the same page and driving towards the same goal. Setting corporate goals for the coming year is an exercise that every CEO or executive team needs to go through. These goals should be clear, concise and measurable - and the executive team should track the success/failure of these goals each quarter throughout the year to ensure the company is moving in the right… Continue

The Impact of Six Sigma

There is a lot of talk about Six Sigma today, as there has always been, and many time companies fail in implementing Six Sigma because they just do not believe enough to make

that commitment up front. They do not understand what “Six Sigma” means

to their bottom line. Or even how to translate what they currently do

into Six Sigma savings.

So lets talk about Six Sigma the…

Message to Small Businesses -- GO TO THE BALL

How many of you either played sports of some sorts while growing up (or maybe still do) or have kids who play sports? (Doesn't matter the sport) One thing that we can learn in our business lives that we have either yelled to our kids in an encouraging way or had yelled at us by a coach or parent is to "Go to the Ball". The concept is to not sit and wait for the ball to come to you, but go get the ball yourself.

Think about that. How simple a concept is that? Should you sit…

Of Death And Dying

I thought That it was time to provide an update to the members. My life partner, Geri, is dying from liver disease and related complications. This was turned my world upside down to say the least. The good news is that she has currently stabilized. This week she will be entering the first phase of getting a transplant. That is if she is healthy enough to qualify.

It has been a real struggle to get an accurate assessment of her condition. We recently fired her primary care physician… Continue
